OPM Review Panel Meeting, May 5, 2014

OPM Review Panel Meeting Information:

The following Districts presented on the procurement and selection of their Owner’s Project Managers (“OPMs”) at the May 5, 2014 MSBA OPM Review Panel (the “Panel”) Meeting:

District:  City of New Bedford (the “District”)
Project:  John Hannigan Elementary School

 
District’s Selected Owner’s Project Manager:  Daedalus Projects Incorporated (“DPI”)
 
The District and its selected Owner’s Project Manager presented information about the OPM selection process and how the District  concluded on selecting DPI as the OPM for the proposed John Hannigan Elementary School Project.  The Panel and MSBA staff asked the District about the selection process; the interview and scoring processes; and the District's past experience with DPI.  The Panel and MSBA staff inquired about the firm’s understanding of the MSBA process, in particular the requirements associated with Modules 3, 4 and 5.  The Panel and MSBA staff sought clarification from the District and DPI regarding the day-to-day contact person for the proposed project.  The Panel and MSBA staff also inquired about the OPM’s current workload and staffing plan for the proposed project.
 
 
District:  Town of Dedham (the “District”)
Project:  Early Childhood Education Center (“ECEC”)

 
District’s Selected Owner’s Project Manager:  Construction Monitoring Services, Inc. (“CMS”)
 
The District and its selected Owner’s Project Manager presented information about the OPM selection process and how the District concluded on selecting CMS to serve as the OPM for the proposed ECEC project.  The Panel and MSBA staff asked the District about the selection process; the interview and scoring processes; and the District's past experience with CMS.  The OPM Review Panel and MSBA staff sought clarification regarding the firm’s proposed team for the project and the OPM’s understanding of its responsibility to be responsive to both the Owner and the MSBA.  The Panel and MSBA staff also inquired about the OPM’s current workload and site considerations for the proposed project.
