MSBA Invites Town of Hopkinton to Launch Feasibility Study for Center Elementary School

State Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), and Jack McCarthy, MSBA Executive Director, announced today that the MSBA Board voted to invite the Town of Hopkinton to collaborate on a Feasibility Study to look at possible solutions to the deficiencies identified at the Center Elementary School.

“We are committed to working with Hopkinton officials to find the best alternative for the Center Elementary School,” said Treasurer Grossman. “This collaboration will develop a cost-effective solution that ensures Hopkinton students can develop and flourish in a state-of-the art, 21st century learning environment.”

“This Feasibility Study will carefully examine all potential solutions to help us develop the most effective plan,” stated Executive Director McCarthy. “We look forward to partnering with the District to move this potential project forward.”

The MSBA partners with Massachusetts communities to support the design and construction of educationally-appropriate, flexible, sustainable and cost-effective public school facilities. Since its inception in 2004, the Authority has made $10.4 billion in reimbursements for school construction projects. These timely payments have saved municipalities over $2.9 billion in avoided local interest costs and have provided much needed cash flow to communities.
