MASSACHUSETTS SCHOOL BUILDING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES
SCHOOL BUILDING DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS
Contest goal is to celebrate best practices in school design in the last 10 years
BOSTON, MA – The Massachusetts School Building Authority (“the Authority”) and State Treasurer Tim Cahill are pleased to announce the winners of the first “School Building Design Awards” contest. The contest was created to recognize school building design successes and to identify model elements of existing buildings to help inform the Authority’s new school building grant program. Submissions were judged by a panel of professionals from fields including: education, economic development, construction, architecture, and elected state officials.
We received over 57 contest submissions from 17 architects and architectural firms. We are very pleased to announce the following winners:

All winners will be honored at a special State House Ceremony on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 10:30 am. The ceremony will take place in Nurse’s Hall on the 2nd floor. Architects are invited to showcase their winning submissions at the event.
