Model School Task Force
Model School Task Force
The Model School Task Force was created to provide recommendations for supplementing and improving the Model School Program. This Task Force will focus on recommendations that incorporate the established goals of the program, which are to:
- Maximize value of existing, proven school design and best practices;
- Avoid perpetuating fads in education and design by selecting enduring, educationally-sound designs;
- Allow for compressed project schedule and accelerated construction start, thus reducing uncertainty of inflation in construction and project costs;
- Simplify the design process and reduce design fees;
- Enhance predictability of project cost and performance resulting in improved quality control and reduced change orders; and
- Provide opportunity for districts to experience the model before selecting a design.
