The MSBA is pleased to be working with the Office of the Inspector General to offer a recertification class designed for those private sector designers and owner's project managers who have previously received their MCPPO certification. This one-day class will serve as an update and a refresher of the essential procurement knowledge needed to manage a successful public school construction project.
Recertification will be required every three (3) years. Those that received their MCPPO certificate in 2007 should register for the first available class. The course will be offered in Boston as well as by video conference at an additional location. Your cooperation is appreciated as available space may be limited initially and may not satisfy the demand.
The MSBA will continue to accept an individual's original certification to satisfy compliance with the MSBA requirements for MCPPO certification through 2011 and/or until such time as the classes offered have successfully met the demand. Going forward, individuals who will require recertification should plan to register in advance to support the 3-year recertification requirement. Additional classes will become available in 2011 on a first come, first served basis. Priority may be given based upon the dates of the original certification.

The specific training requirements for owner's project managers and designers are defined in the MSBA's regulations and MSBA template contracts and procurement documents, as detailed in the attached summary and as available on the MSBA's website. We look forward to seeing you at a recertification class.
