MSBA Helps Break Ground for New $102.9M School in Holbrook

Jack McCarthy, Executive Director of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), today joined state and local officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for Holbrook’s new Kindergarten through 12th grade school. The MSBA is contributing a maximum total facilities grant of $55,751,400 towards the project.

MSBA Helps Break Ground on Addition/Renovation at Northborough’s Lincoln Street Elementary School

Maureen Valente, Chief Executive Officer of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), today joined state and local officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for a major addition and renovation project at Lincoln Street Elementary School. The MSBA is contributing a maximum total facilities grant of up to $10,407,408 towards the project.

MSBA Helps Break Ground on New $89M North Middlesex Regional High School

Jack McCarthy, Executive Director of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), today joined state and local officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new North Middlesex Regional High School located in Townsend.  The MSBA is contributing a maximum total facilities grant of up to $40,210,028 of eligible expenses towards the $89 million project.

June 3, 2015 Board Meeting Press Releases

The Massachusetts School Building Authority Board of Directors met on Wednesday, June 3,  2015.  At the meeting, the Board voted to amend one District's Feasibility Study Agreement; two Districts were invited to conduct a Feasibility Study; 24 Districts, representing 44 projects were invited into the Accelerated Repair Program; two Districts were approved to proceed with their Preferred Schematic Designs; and two Districts were advanced to the Project Scope and Budget Phase. In addition, the Board also voted to approve the final audits and grant amounts of one Waiting List Program project and 10 New Program projects, including one Green Repair Program project, three Accelerated Repair Program projects, one addition/renovation project, and five new construction projects.

The MSBA Will be Co-Sponsoring the "Story Of A Building" Seminar with the Inspector General's Office Again This Year

The MSBA is co-sponsoring again this year with the Office of the Inspector General, for the "Story of a Building" Seminar. This new on-site class immerses attendees in the story of a public building construction project from the beginning of the planning stages to the final stages, resulting in a building “coming to life.”

The Massachusetts School Building Authority Board of Directors met on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.  At the meeting, two Districts were granted amendments to their Feasibility Study Agreements, three Districts were invited into the Eligibility Period; two Districts were invited to conduct a Feasibility Study; 12 Districts, representing 12 projects were authorized to execute Project Funding Agreements with the MSBA for the Accelerated Repair Program; two Districts were recommended to proceed with their Preferred Schematic Designs; and one District was advanced to the Project Scope and Budget Phase.
