These MSBA projects include a geothermal ground source heat pump system. Virtually all MSBA new construction projects either include photovoltaic systems in the project, are designed to have photovoltaics purchased later by the district, or photovoltaics are installed through a Power-Purchase Agreement by the district after construction. Many projects that include geothermal wells also include photovoltaic panels.
Eleven of these schools have been completed:* Wellington Elementary in Belmont, South High School in Plymouth, Hastings Elementary in Lexington, Belmont Middle/High School, Fales Elementary in Westborough, Douglas Elementary in Acton-Boxborough, Mindess Elementary in Ashland, Hadley Elementary in Swampscott, Foster Elementary in Hingham, Hanlon Elementary in Westwood, and Stoneham High School.
