Module 2 – Forming the Project Team

Once all of the Pre-Requisites have been completed to the satisfaction of the MSBA, the District procures the team of professionals utilizing MSBA specific procurement processes and standard Request for Services (“RFS”) templates and Contracts to work with the District as the proposed project advances through the MSBA’s grant process.


As of March 28, 2012:

Districts have recently procured professional services for nine projects:

  • Four Districts completed OPM Procurement this period:
    • Andover, Oxford, Somerville, Winchester
  • Five districts participated in the DSP and selected designers this period
    • Auburn, Chicopee, Newburyport (Nock Middle School), Whitman-Hanson Regional, Winchester

Districts currently are procuring professional services for 11 projects:

  • Six Districts are actively procuring OPM services:
    • Athol-Royalston, Boston (Dearborn Middle School), Greater Lawrence Regional, Lynn, New Bedford (Taylor Elementary School), Old Colony Regional
  • Five districts are in the process of selecting a designer
    • Five districts scheduled for upcoming DSP meetings - Berkshire Hills Regional, Revere, Spencer-East Brookfield Regional, Wachusett, Winthrop
  • Over $84 million in OPM fees to date
  • Over $207.6 million in designer fees to date
