The following Districts presented on the progress of their proposed projects at the October 4, 2017 Massachusetts School Building Authority (the "MSBA") Facilities Assessment Subcommittee (the "FAS") Meeting:
Bristol County Agricultural Regional School District
Bristol County Agricultural High School
Current Phase: Feasibility Study
Owner's Project Manager: Colliers International, Inc.
Designer: HMFH Architects, Inc.
The Bristol County Agricultural Regional School District (the "District"), the Owner’s Project Manager, and design team presented an overview of the options studied during the Feasibility Study and the District’s preferred solution for additions/renovations and new construction of various buildings at the Bristol County Agricultural High School campus. The FAS, MSBA staff, and the District discussed: 1) authorship of the submitted educational plan; 2) class size policies; 3) campus design, layout and connection between the two campuses; 4) distribution of special education spaces; 5) outdoor educational spaces; 6) typical school day of a student; 7) traffic along Center Street; 8) potential for engaging students in the design process; 9) foreign language offerings after school; 10) status of the search for a new Superintendent; 11) further development of the media center and building layouts; and 12) the anticipated process and timeline for securing authorization and funding of the Proposed Project.
The FAS requested additional information regarding progress of the conceptual design.
MSBA staff is currently working with the District to reach a mutually agreeable solution to recommend to the MSBA’s Board of Directors.
City of Marlborough
Richer Elementary School
Current Phase: Feasibility Study

Designer: Lamoureux, Pagano & Associates, Inc.
The City of Marlborough (the "District"), the Owner’s Project Manager, and design team presented an overview of the options studied during the Feasibility Study and the District’s preferred solution to construct a new elementary school facility on the existing athletic fields of the Marlborough High School site. The FAS, MSBA staff, and the District discussed: 1) the District’s Educational Program and grade reconfigurations; 2) special education programs and proposed locations; 3) redistricting and community outreach; 4) organization of the proposed building layout; 5) proposed site layout and circulation; 6) delivery of adaptive physical education; 7) opportunities for multi-lingual instruction in the general education classrooms; 8) location of the elevator; and 9) incorporation of sinks in classrooms.
MSBA staff is currently working with the District to reach a mutually agreeable solution to recommend to the MSBA’s Board of Directors.
City of Attleboro
Attleboro High School
Current Phase: Schematic Design
Owner’s Project Manager: Skanska USA Building, Inc.
Designer: Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc.
The City of Attleboro (the "District"), the Owner’s Project Manager, and design team presented an overview of the options studied during the Feasibility Study and the District’s preferred solution to replace the existing Attleboro High School with a new facility on the existing site. The FAS, MSBA staff, and the District discussed: 1) the District’s updated Educational Program and its relation to the updated Preferred Solution; 2) progress of the conceptual design; 3) number of outdoor play fields and green space available; 4) CTE retail spaces and their relation to the entryway; 5) overall improved efficiency of the building; 6) size of the auditorium; 7) massing of the proposed building; 8) integration between the Attleboro Community Academy (ACA) and Network programs; 9) distribution and location of special education spaces; and 10) discussion regarding further development of the building envelope.
MSBA staff is currently working with the District to reach a mutually agreeable solution to recommend to the MSBA’s Board of Directors.
