Mary Grassa O’Neill is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Director for Programs in Professional Education at Harvard University. Formerly, Dr. O'Neill was the Secretary of Education for the Archdiocese of Boston. She has been a teacher, curriculum advisor, principal, zone superintendent in the Boston Public Schools and superintendent of the Milton Public Schools.
While serving as Milton’s superintendent she worked with the town to raise more than $100 million dollars to substantially renovate or replace all six school buildings in the district. Dr. O'Neill worked closely with architects, designers, project managers, contractors, town leaders, the community and its teachers to ensure the project would support the educational needs of Milton for the next 50 years.
Mary Grassa O’Neill has a demonstrated commitment to the children of this state. An award winning educator she understands instruction and facilities and will provide an important perspective to the MSBA Board.
