OIG Issues Smart Building Technology Procurement Recommendations
The MSBA is sharing the Office of the Inspector General's Bulletin, December 2023, Volume 4, Issue 4: "OIG Issues Smart Building Technology Procurement Recommendations".
Through a study of a lighting system issue, the bulletin identifies operational and financial risks involved with the procurement, installation and continued operations of smart software technology and recommends measures to mitigate these risks. Districts and Consultants involved in the design and construction of new schools are encouraged to read this bulletin to maximize the potential that new technologies provide with less risk of adverse outcomes.
