These MSBA projects include a geothermal ground source heat pump system. Virtually all MSBA new construction projects either include photovoltaic systems in the project, are designed to have photovoltaics purchased later by the district, or photovoltaics are installed through a Power-Purchase Agreement by the district after construction. Many projects that include geothermal wells also include photovoltaic panels.
Thirteen of these schools have been completed:* Wellington Elementary in Belmont, Auburn Middle School, Winthrop Middle-High School, South High in Plymouth, Nelson Place Elementary in Worcester, Memorial High in Billerica, Hastings Elementary in Lexington, Balmer Elementary in Northbridge, Bristol County Agricultural High School, Belmont High School, Fales Elementary in Westborough, Douglas Elementary in Acton-Boxborough RSD, and Mindess Elementary in Ashland.
