Featured Job: Assistant Project Manager

Since our founding in 2004, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) has made over $13.6 billion in payments for over 600 school buildings across the state, so that Massachusetts students will continue to learn in schools that are second-to-none in the nation. We are a small, quasi-independent state agency, occupying a single story of a building in Boston’s financial district, and conduct our business in small, motivated teams.
At the MSBA, the Construction Administration Team manages MSBA capital pipeline projects from Detailed Design to Project Closeout. We provide grant money that funds schools from early education to high school in every corner of Massachusetts. We are now seeking candidates with enthusiasm for public sector work who have professional experience and/or an educational background in construction management. Each Assistant Project Manager works with the guidance of Senior Project Managers to grow as a professional while doing good work on behalf of the students of the state of Massachusetts.
An Assistant Project Manager in this team:
- Is committed to the mission of building the best schools possible for Massachusetts students.
- Is motivated to provide efficient and diligent monitoring of project scope, schedule and budget.
- Would like to examine best practices for school building, from the quality and cost-effectiveness of construction, to long-term durability and sustainability.
- Would like to learn more about the commissioning process for school facilities constructed with state-of-the-art Building Management Systems.
- Would like to visit building sites to observe firsthand the latest construction techniques and leading trends in school design.
