State Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), and Jack McCarthy, MSBA Executive Director, today joined state and local officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for a major repair and renovation project at Greater Lowell Technical High School.
Grossman and McCarthy Visit Accelerated Repair Project to Celebrate Milestone
Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), and MSBA Executive Director Jack McCarthy today visited the Lake View School in Worcester to review a $1.4 million repair project, as well as to celebrate the investment of $186,822,308 by the MSBA in Worcester public schools since the Authority’s 2004 inception. The Lake View School project helped elevate the MSBA’s overall investment in statewide school buildings to over $10 billion. The MSBA is also working with the City on nine other school projects at the Chandler Magnet School, Dr. James Caradonio New Citizens Center, Jacob Hiatt Magnet School, May Street School, Nelson Place Elementary School, Columbus Park Preparatory Academy, Tatnuck Magnet School, Worcester Arts Magnet School, and the Worcester East Middle School.
Grossman and McCarthy Visit Renovation Project to Celebrate Benchmark
Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), and MSBA Executive Director Jack McCarthy today reviewed the ongoing expansion and refurbishment of Methuen High School, a project that played a role in elevating the MSBA’s overall investment in statewide school buildings to over $10 billion.
The Massachusetts School Building Authority Administration, Operations, and Finance Subcommittee will be meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM. The meeting will take place at 40 Broad Street, Suite 500 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), and MSBA Executive Director Jack McCarthy today visited the North Junior High School in Brockton to review a $3.2 million energy efficiency project, work that played a role in elevating the MSBA’s overall investment in statewide school buildings to over $10 billion.
Grossman and McCarthy Visit New Morton Middle School to Celebrate Benchmark
Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) and MSBA Executive Director Jack McCarthy today visited the new James Madison Morton Middle School in Fall River, a project that played a role in elevating the MSBA’s overall investment in statewide school buildings to over $10 billion.
NOTICE: New Change Order Policy, effective January of 2014, for all Districts seeking the MSBA’s Board approval for a Project Scope and Budget Agreement for an Approved Project.
The MSBA Board of Directors met on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.
One District was invited into the Accelerated Repair Program, one District was invited in the Eligibility Period, three Districts, representing four projects, were advanced to the Schematic Design phase, and five Districts were advanced to the Project Scope and Budget phase. The MSBA also voted to approve the final audits and grant amounts for nine Repair Program projects and one core program project.
